Make your own wedding ring
Alongside our master goldsmith, you can be involved in every step of the process, from creating red hot gold, shaping, soldering, polishing and finishing.
Costs start at £400 plus materials, you're very welcome to get in touch and discuss your ideas.
Making something new from inherited pieces is a task we very much enjoy here in the workshop, it mixes metallurgy, chemistry, physics, math, years of experience and art to create a whole new piece of jewellery.

Here we illustrate, step by step, taking 3 heirloom gold rings and creating a brand new piece for our client to enjoy.

3 Rings, 2 in 9 carat gold, 1 in 22 carat handed down by our customers parents. The project is to create 1 new piece to wear and enjoy.
Each item is sorted by its gold type and melted in a crucible.
A red hot gold nugget, not something you see very often in a jewellers.

We then use some gold to bridge the gap and solder the join.
The first of the 3 soldered rings prior to shaping, polishing and joining.
The 3 items ready for joining, notice the centre piece which is the more pure 22 carat gold and a deeper, richer colour.
Joined and ready for the next stage, polishing.
Using a high speed brush and a range of compounds starts the polishing process.
The finished piece, ready for hallmarking.
